Vell FAQs

How does VELL work?
The VELL Wellness System relies on five pillars:

  • Nutrition
Food is medicine, VELL uses concepts derived from food therapy principles and will recommend specific foods based on your wellness type or ailment.
  • Fitness
Maintaining physical fitness is important, at any age, and in any health situation. Even modest physical exercises have a great impact on general well-being.
  • Mind
The mind is powerful, and it body and mind work together. Maintaining mental and emotional balance is a key element of wellness.
  • Supplements
Food is just a start, Nature also provides many products that can be refined into powerful helpers.
  • Programs
Programs can either be curative (if an illness or ailment exists), or preventative, to ward off or minimize future health issues.

The five pillars all interact with each other and have a synergistic effect on healing and promoting overall wellness. Vell aims to inform and to guide you on your journey to healing and thriving by taking good care of every aspect of your wellness.

How can I trust that Vell Programs are serious and can help me?
Vell health wellness programs are supported by commonly sourced, curated, widely accepted information. Our Vell health advisory board consists of highly acclaimed and awarded Medical Doctors of various specialties. Vell health Programs were holistically designed under strict supervision by Dr. Ken Grey AP, DOM, Doctor of Oriental medicine, with Masters in both Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine who practices Integrative Medicine at the Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, FL and has over two decades of experience in the field. Dr. Grey is also a talk-show host on NPR, with his “Quality Living” podcast. Click here to learn more about Dr. Ken.

How do I use VELL?
After you register, the app will ask you about the symptoms you experience and how well you have been following your programs and recommendations, in a manner very similar to a doctor’s visit.
Symptoms and recommendations vary by ailment. During the initial “visit”, VELL will present a short list of the most important steps you need to take to tackle your ailments in a holistic fashion. Over time, VELL will “learn” and present a list of new recommendations and/or reinforce current recommendations if you have not shown any progress or slow progress.
The questions are presented with multiple responses, so you can choose the answer best matching your current situation. Once you have answered questions on Symptoms and Recommendations, click on the green button with the “check” icon to record your current progress. If you want to answer more questions, click on the blue button with the “plus sign” icon.

What are the benefits to subscribe to a Premium Membership?
A free account is a good start on your way to wellness. We recommend subscribing to Premium to enjoy many benefits, such as:

  • Unlimited media access (all audio & video tracks are absolutely free to Premium members)
  • Advanced progress tracking: review your progress day by day and get detailed analysis and advice on how to optimize your wellness
  • Schedule reminders: get alerts when it’s time to record your progress or to complete a specific task based on your Program recommendations
  • Create and track custom programs steps. You can also set alerts on your custom steps
  • Find nearby holistic health products and services: available resources near you displayed on a map, complete with reviews and directions
  • Access all Programs: use any number of Programs at any time

How do I track my Programs Results?
Just click the “Progress” option on the toolbar and you will be able to see your current Program progress trend, with AI-driven explanation of how well you are doing and how you could improve. VELL Premium users can also track their progress over time with detailed graphical analytics, including details by pillar (Nutrition, Fitness, Mind, Supplements, Programs), as well as a curve showing evolution of symptoms over time.

Can I change my Program?
Vell Premium members can change Program at any time by either clicking the “Change Ailment” button from the “Learn” toolbar option or by navigating to Settings->Change Ailment from the “Menu” toolbar option. You can use as many Programs as you want and switch between them at any time. All previous data (including custom settings) will be kept and Rewards Points will continue to accumulate.

I’m not sure I understand all the steps of my Program. How can I learn more?
Click “Learn” on the toolbar and you will be able to go through your entire program step by step, including a complete discussion of symptoms, and detailed information about every program step. In addition, you can click the “book” icon from the answer popup from your daily evaluation screen. More in-depth information is also available on the Vell website.

Can I modify my program steps?
You can remove (and later restore) as many Symptoms and Recommendation steps from Vell Programs as you’d like. Please remember that for optimal efficiency, following the entire program is recommended. If some steps do not apply to you (for example gender-specific) or recommend products that are illegal to use in your area (such as CBD), there is no impact on the program efficiency.
To remove a step, select “Menu” on the toolbar then click “Settings-Edit Program”. Premium Vell members can also modify their programs by creating their own custom program steps. To do so, simply navigate to the Settings page and select “Create your custom steps.”

How do I set a daily reminder?
From the Daily Action page, click “Set daily reminder” link at the bottom of the daily action page, then set up the time at which you want VELL to remind you to check-in every day. You can cancel this reminder by clicking “Remove daily reminder” link at the bottom of the daily action page.

I’m trying to set a reminder, but nothing happens when I click the alarm clock icon or the timer icon. What do I do?
You may need to enable “Notifications” for Vell in your phone’s main settings. The Vell app is “notification-compliant” and will not override your device settings. To enable notifications, go to your phone settings, select “Apps” or “Applications”, then select Vell and enable or adjust settings as needed.

How do I set a specific action reminder?
From the Daily Action page, click the “Stopwatch” icon in any action item and set the time at which you want VELL to remind you about this action. For example, if you plan to do your flexibility exercises at 2:00 pm today, set the reminder time to 2:00 pm.
Item-specific reminders do not repeat and are valid only for the current day. You can also set up the time where you expect to be done with the action, so you can update your progress for this daily action.

Why do I need to provide additional information on my profile?
You are never required to provide any information beyond your email address, screen name and password. However, providing additional profile information will help us personalize your profiler program as we compare your progress to people who are similar demographic terms (such as age, gender, etc.). You can update your profile information by clicking the “Menu” option on the toolbar then “Profile”. You can then provide any additional information you deem useful. And remember, Vell does not resell your information. For full details, visit our Privacy Policy Page.

When you download a media product from the marketplace, it is placed in your own collection, called “My Stuff”. To access your media, click “My Stuff” on the toolbar. You can add and remove items from your personal collection. If you remove an item you purchased, you’ll still own it and will be able to restore it at any time from the Marketplace, you will never be charged more than once for any item.

What are Vell Rewards?
Every time you use Vell, you will accumulate a variable number of Vell Points. Points are earned on number of steps followed on a daily basis, but also on how often you use Vell and how dedicated you are to following your program. As you accumulate points, you will learn Vell badges, such as “Streak Badges” and “Milestone Badges”. Points will be redeemable at a later time for products, media, discounts, or other rewards as they become available. To look at your Vell “Reward Account”, click Menu->Rewards.

Can I delete my data?
Yes, you may delete your data at any time!
To do so, open the app, log in to your account, then go to:
Menu->Settings->Delete Account
This will start the account deletion process. For your protection, VELL will send you a unique code that you will need to enter.
